Created and led by artists, we exist to reconnect people with the human pulse of the artist behind the art. There is so much more to an artwork than the finished piece on the wall, the hands that made it, the story that shaped it, and the quiet energy it carries into a space.
Born from a shared belief that art is a silent language capable of reaching the deepest corners of the human soul, The Academy Art offers a rare level of access into studios, processes, and emerging voices you might never otherwise encounter. Whether you are acquiring a single, meaningful artwork or shaping an entire environment, we guide the journey with care, intuition, and intent.
We work one-on-one with private collectors, property owners, developers, or in close collaboration with interior designers to create curated collections that truly belong and define a space. Sometimes that means uncovering a singular artwork that anchors a room. Other times, it means curating a narrative across multiple rooms, allowing energy to shift as you move from one space to the next, from calm to confidence, from impact to intimacy.

Tyron’s journey is rooted in a quiet, self-taught dedication to both the canvas and the craft of storytelling. As a hyperrealistic charcoal artist, his work is a patient exploration of time and legacy. A reflection of the same care and intentionality he brings to the business of art. He believes that his role is not just to sell art, but to be a steward for the stories that remain after the words are spoken.
With over a decade of marketing experience across diverse industries and a practical background in gallery management, Tyron has quietly mastered the synergy between creative heart and commercial logic. The Academy Art was born from a simple mission: helping artists stay artists while helping collectors find deeper meaning in every acquisition. By bridging the gap between the studio and the collector, Tyron ensures that every acquisition becomes a meaningful, soul-deep connection that supports the creator and inspires the keeper.

Co-Founder
Known in the art world as "Sketchy Brett," he is a celebrated contemporary artist whose visceral, large-scale charcoal works are held in significant private collections across the globe. Beyond the studio, Brett is a powerhouse entrepreneur with over two decades of experience founding and scaling multi-million rand ventures in property, finance, and creative technology.
As a former Chief Innovation Officer and Creative Director, Brett navigates the art world through a lens of disruptive strategy and commercial mastery. He treats every acquisition with the analytical precision of a seasoned investor and the intuitive heart of a practitioner who understands the weight of every mark made on a canvas. His mission at The Academy Art is to bring a new level of intentionality to the industry, helping clients build art portfolios that are as strategically sound as they are emotionally profound.
